What determines where I get to live?
Room selection is available to all incoming students, and opens based on completed reservation date. The date of completed reservation, including $50 fee, is the primary consideration for honoring a student's building preferences. Students may indicate preference of a residence hall and the desired type of room on the housing reservation. Students may utilize the roommate group feature, within the Housing Portal, to identify a roommate, or allow the Housing Office to assign a roommate. Housing Office assignments may override room selection preferences. The preferences of each student regarding roommate, residence hall, and room type is considered in the assignment.
-
What if I don't get the housing preferences that I requested?
Current students seeking a room change should complete the "Room Change Request" form within the Housing Portal. Incoming students are encouraged to complete the "Pre-Arrival Room Change Request" form within the Housing Portal. Room assignment changes are honored as space becomes available. Students are eligible for room selection based on the “when did did you complete your housing reservation” timeline.
-
What if I want to change my room or roommate?
Students may request to change their roommate assignment prior to the start of the semester by contacting the Housing Office at 308-432-6466 or housing@csc.edu. During the semester, a change may be made by completing the "Room Change Request" form within the Housing Portal or contacting the Assistant Director of the residence hall.
