I grew up in Crawford, Neb., and attended CSC on a scholarship, graduating in 1979. I am married and we have two daughters. We live in Swanton, Neb. At the end of my junior year, I applied to the business internship program through the college. I was very fortunate to get an internship at the local bank although I didn't really know if I wanted to be a banker but thought the experience would be great. I worked part time at the bank after the internship and then started a full-time job after graduation. I was very fortunate throughout my career. In 1981, I became the president of a bank and in 1983, with the help of my parents, purchased the bank. We purchased another bank in 1996 and today have a very successful organization. The point of this is to stress that if I hadn't done an internship, I probably wouldn't be where I am today.  I'm thankful for the CSC scholarship and education I received and try to give back to the college. I liked the smaller college atmosphere and continue to be amazed today because no matter where I go I usually run into someone that has roots back to CSC. You truly get a chance to meet everyone at the college.
