Criteria:

Recipients must be pursuing a Bachelors in Physical Education with a minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA and HPER GPA. Recipient must also be willing to join the Nebraska Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and be willing to serve as a student rep for this campus.

Dr. Pat Colgate had a distinguished career while serving on the Chadron Sate College faculty for 37 years and, as dean, leading the educational programs for 15 years. Under his leadership, Chadron State enhanced its long-standing reputation as one of the outstanding teacher training institutions in the nation. Graduates of the college serve as teachers and administrators across the country and even around the globe. Dr. Colgate said he prepared to become a teacher because of his belief in education as a prominent and vital service to society. He found teaching to be professionally and personally motivating, challenging and rewarding.
