The Rainbolt Family Endowment

Area of Interest: Mathematics/Science

Criteria:

The recipient shall be majoring in the area of Math or Science. He/she shall have a GPA of at least a 3.0. The recipient shall have graduated from a high school located in Wyoming or Nebraska.

David Eugene Rainbolt was born June 22, 1925, to Jesse and David Rainbolt. Gene grew up on the family farm in western Oklahoma and attended three years of college at Stillwater, now called Oklahoma State University. He married Lucil Dibler on Sept. 30, 1943. They raised eight children. In 1952, he and his family moved to Bartley, where he accepted a position teaching agricultural science to the veterans who returned home from WWII. Gene was a carpenter and he built several homes. On Oct. 25, 1995, Gene's first wife passed way. He then met Merilyn Wheeler Rice and they married on May 30, 1997.
