Science Teaching Endowment

Eligibility: Sophomore/Junior/Senior

Criteria:

Recipients shall be sophomore or above in status and pursuing a degree as a science teacher. Financial need should be relevant.

Diana Betson Broestl graduated from CSC in 1967 with majors in Chemistry and Biology. She became an officer in the United States Air Force and met her husband, Ed. She served three years in the Air Force and Ed served 20. They always came back to Chadron to see her family, the Betsons who lived near Whitney. She earned her Master's in Biology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1984 and began teaching Science in elementary school. They moved to Colorado in 1989 and she began teaching Biology and Chemistry in high school. During the years she has been teaching, she has grown to appreciate what a good education she received at CSC and what terrific professors she had. She tells her students about CSC frequently and wanted to help other people as they prepare to teach Science.
