The story of Ross Armstrong is, in essence, a story of Chadron State College. He had been associated with the college longer than anyone else in his time and served in numerous capacities. He coached the Eagles in four different sports, was dean of men, director of housing, taught a number of different courses, and was a confidant to many fellow faculty and scores of students. Seldom could anyone from the college meet a person who knew of CSC without referring to 'ole Ross'. He was one of those rare individuals who could be a nice guy and still maintain his effectiveness when hard decisions had to be made.
