Rex & Ermine Coffee Scholarship

Criteria:

Recipient must be a student how has a good High School record in both academics and athletics. Preference will be given to a varsity football player

Rex was born in Round Rock, Texas in February of 1892 but grew up in Chadron. He went on to the University of Nebraska and then came back and finished at Chadron State in 1914. In 1918 Rex and Ermine married and lived on Rex's “Lickit” Ranch north of Harrison where he raised purebred Herefords and Bulls. The couple's two children both attended Chadron State. Rex received many honors throughout his lifetime. He was always a competitive athlete and was a member of the 1st Football team at Chadron State. Rex was also a charter member of the Chadron Golf Course, a Past Exalted Ruler and Life member of the Elks, a 50 year member of Masons and a 75 year member of the Methodist Church.
