Ramona Hampton Memorial Endowment

The recipients shall be majoring in Elementary Education.

Ramona Hampton was born in Martin, SD. She was the second of three children. She graduated from Martin High School when she was sixteen. Ramona began teaching at a small country school the next fall. She attended college during the summer and taught during the school year until she was married in 1955 to Robert Hampton. They had four children. She started taking classes at CSC when her youngest child entered first grade. She finished her Elementary Education degree in 1975. She loved teaching young children. By establishing this scholarship she hoped to assist others to be able to experience the same sense of accomplishment and success in teaching.
