Naomi J. Wilson Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

The recipients shall be majoring in Elementary Education. They shall have a GPA of at least 3.0.


Naomi Wilson was born and raised in rural Nebraska and had a 28 year career as an educator in which she taught the elementary grades and then taught and supervised students preparing to become elementary school teachers. She taught in the Chadron public schools while completing the last two years of her undergraduate degree at Chadron State Teacher's College (CSTC). She graduated in 1948. Mrs. Wilson then accepted a position in the CSTC Laboratory School followed by joining the faculty at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb. Before she retired in 1973, she spent two summers in the Teaching Corps in Ethiopia teaching Ethiopian teachers. After she retired, she spent one year teaching in the American College in Ecuador.
