I grew up in mostly small rural towns in Nebraska.  Attending college was financially beyond my reach until I received a CSC scholarship at my high school graduation.  Four years later I had my Bachelor’s degree with a major in mathematics and minor in physics.  Next, I assisted in field data analysis for Shell Oil Company in Montana.  Two years later I worked at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in New Mexico where I was introduced to the world of computers.  Via on-the-job training I learned to do computer programming.  I finished my computer career with the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho.  Receiving that scholarship and attending CSC totally changed the path of my life; a change I've never regretted.  CSC provided a warm, friendly atmosphere.  Classes were both challenging and productive under the guidance of professional, helpful and caring instructors.  I sincerely hope this scholarship will provide similar opportunities.
