The recipient shall be studying Fine Arts and is designated to be a student in Voice.


Mrs. Paulson was born Feb. 10, 1916, to Tarlington Bates Carpenter and M. Blanche Harvey Carpenter in Campbell, Neb. She graduated from McCook High School in 1933, and attended McCook Junior College, Nebraska Wesleyan University and Chadron State College. She married Leonard E. Paulson on May 15, 1938, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mrs. Paulson was the secretary of the Nebraska Academy of Sciences and the UNL English Department; the past president of CSC Faculty Women and was the sponsor for Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
