Larry & LaVona Lemons Education Scholarship

Criteria:

Recipients shall be majoring in Education and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. The recipients must have successfully passed the Praxis exam.

Larry and LaVona Lemons are both graduates of Crawford High School as well as graduates of CSC. They were both education majors and spent many years teaching in Nebraska before retiring. LaVona taught in Grand Island, Chadron High School, and Scottsbluff and was the volunteer coordinator for the North Platte Public Schools. Larry taught and coached football and track for the Scottsbluff Public Schools as well as serving as the secondary counselor in Hershey Public Schools. Their son, Jay, President of Susquehanna University, along with his wife, Marsha, aided them in setting up a scholarship fund for Chadron State students majoring in education. Larry and LaVona currently live in Loveland, CO and have many fond memories of their years at Chadron State College.
