Criteria:

The recipient shall have an ability in basketball and potential to play at CSC. First preference shall be to a Chadron High School graduate. Second preference shall be any student from Wyoming, South Dakota or the Panhandle of Nebraska.

The Jim Montague Memorial Scholarship was established on May 11, 1988 by his family. Jim was an outstanding basketball player during his years at Chadron High School, graduating in 1982. Jim holds the Chadron High Single game scoring record of 39 points during his years as a Basketball standout at Chadron High. He attended CSC in 1982-83. Jim remained very active in the Alliance and Chadron City Basketball Leagues. He was a volunteer coach for the Chadron Middle School 6th and 7th grade teams during the 1881-82 and 1982-83 seasons. Jim joined his father in the electrical business, ABC Electric, of Chadron until his death on Jan. 23, 1988.
