Harold V. and Kenneth Thompson Scholarship

Recipient shall be Education major or Business Administration major with preference given to the study of Real Estate.


Harold V. Thompson graduated from Chadron State College in the early 1930s. He then taught and coached basketball at Clinton, Neb., high school. When World War II started, he left for California to work in a war-related industry. While employed in that vital work, he accumulated valuable industrial property in California. After the war, he turned to real estate where he was highly successful. He established the Harold V. Thompson Memorial Scholarship fund and also established one in the name of his brother, Kenneth Thompson. He passed away on November 28, 1983.

Kenneth Thompson received his first college degree from Chadron State College in 1930, his Master's degree from Northern Colorado University and his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. He started public school teaching in 1928 at Clinton, NE, served as superintendent at Broadwater, NE, and spent several years teaching in India. Dr. Thompson joined the faculty of Bereau College in Berea, KY, where he remained until his retirement in 1975.
