Glenn and Linda Novotny are originally from Chadron and have been married for over 50 years. Glenn received a B.A. from Chadron State College in 1969 and graduated from the Harvard Business School Executive Management Program in 1981. He worked for Weyerhaeuser Corporation from 1970-1990 in a variety of operating, strategic planning, sales and executive management roles. He served as CEO of Weyerhaeuser Garden & Pet Supply from 1988-1990. He was the president and COO of Central Garden & Pet from 1990-2003 and the CEO from 2003-2007. Glenn was instrumental in taking Central public in 2003 and growing it from sales of $200 million in 1990 to over $1.7 billion by the end of 2007 through organic growth and over 40 acquisitions. Glenn has served on many public and private boards of directors and has significant entrepreneurial experience. Currently, he is a director of Radio Systems Corp., Pet Food Express, Trupanion Pet Insurance, Reeb Millwork and Edge Systems, Corp. Glenn has also served as a director in the past on Veritainer Corp., Ditan Corp. Nexus Biosystems, Freedom Innovations and Confirma. He currently is an operating partner at Telegraph Hill Partners, a private equity firm, in San Francisco and is the founder and owner of Glennhawk Vineyards, as well as founder and chairman of Emerald Pet Products. We currently live in Danville, Calif., but have never forgotten where we came from or the ethics and morals we were taught while being raised in Nebraska. We are pleased to be able to provide financial aid to deserving students at Chadron State College.
