Frank Thoendel Agriculture Scholarship

Students majoring in Agriculture.


Professor Frank Thoendel was born and raised on a farm north of Ewing, Neb. He taught several years in Elgin, Neb., where he met and married Ruth Camp, his wife of 60 years. In 1947, the family moved to Chadron, Neb., where Frank taught industrial arts and driver's education at CSC. He was instrumental in the design and subsequent construction of the current Burkhiser Building. He retired at the age of 65. He instilled the value of education in his children as well as his students. All five of Frank's children majored in education at CSC, two with a major in industrial technology. Through this scholarship, he continues to assist students at CSC realize their hopes, dreams and achievements.
