Criteria:

The recipient shall be a student participating in the Men's Basketball program.

Ed Sparling was the CSC Basketball and Baseball coach. He was born in Kansas but grew up in Illinois. He was an all-state basketball and baseball player in high school at Peru, IL where he also played football. He graduated from University of Tampa and has a master's degree from George Peabody College. He and his wife Charleen had four daughters.
