Dr. William & Jean Boehle Music Scholarship

Criteria:

Recipients shall be a music major with a GPA of at least 2.5, or have graduated in the top half of their high school class.

Dr. William Boehle "blew in" with the infamous blizzard of 1949, and throughout the 1950s he taught Music at Chadron State, serving as Chairman of the Division of Fine Arts 1952-60. He retired from teaching in 1984, following 24 years at the University of North Dakota. During all of these years Mrs. Boehle welcomed numerous students into their home, providing a delightful home away from home. The Boehles live in Orlando, Florida, where they keep in touch with a large number of former students throughout the world. Dr. Boehle continues to play piano with big jazz bands.
