Criteria:

The recipient shall be majoring in history and have a GPA of at least 2.5.


Dr. Richard J. 'Dick' Loosbrock passed away in March 2003. He had taught US, frontier, military, and other history classes at Chadron State College from 1968 until his retirement in 2000. He also organized summer workshops on the American West and the works of Mari Sandoz. Outside of the classroom, he devoted his intellectual efforts to researching and producing education videos on historic American trails, including the Oregon, Santa Fe, and California Gold Rush Trails, known collectively as the Trails West Project. He also conducted research on Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.
