The recipients shall be in the health professions field with preference to students in pre-chiropractic.

John Navratil was born in Silver Lake, Minn., in 1930. He was from a large family of 13 children. His parents owned a grocery store. He attended the University of Minnesota and Northwestern Chiropractic College in Minneapolis, Minn. John was married in 1961 to Pat Halverson and in 1967 they moved to Chadron, Neb., and started his chiropractic practice. Pat and John raised their family of five children in Chadron. The family started the Navratil Endowment to express their appreciation to the community for the very successful years that he practiced.
