The recipient will be pursuing a degree in the field of education. Financial need will be a strong consideration.


Dr. Earl Strohbehn was born and raised in Treynor, Iowa. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Omaha and obtained his master's in history from the University of Cincinnati in 1940. He went on to get his doctorate in education from the University of Tennessee in 1955. His first teaching assignment was in a rural high school at Nodaway, Iowa. Dr. Strohbehn taught in schools in the U.S. and Canada, making him an expert in curriculum. He was a visiting professor in education and instructional technology at the universities of Saskatchewan, Calgary, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin and San Francisco and Sacramento State College and Central Washington State College. He passed away at age 77 from a massive heart attack.
