Donald L. Liehs CSC Scholarship Fund

Eligibility: Sophomore/Junior/Senior
Area of Interest: Pre-engineering Mathematics Physics Chemistry Computer Science Biology

Criteria:

1st Preference shall be given to candidates majoring in mathematics and math education. 2nd Preference shall be given to a candidate majoring in the following order: Pre-engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science. Education majors in these areas may also be considered in the same order. Recipient shall be a graduate of a Nebraska High School Recipient shall have a GPA that is between 3.0 and 3.5. Only if there is not a candidate that does not meet the GPA requirement may it be awarded to someone with a 3.5 or higher. Must have a financial need.  This scholarship may not be awarded as an Athletic Scholarship or in conjunction with any Athletic Scholarship to a student participating in any varsity sport at CSC. The scholarship may be renewed for up to (2) two years with a GPA of 3.0.  In the event a recipient is not qualified for a renewal, the scholarship may be re-awarded to another qualified recipient of the same class standing. Maximum of 3 awards. One award must be a Sophomore.

This scholarship was established to support Chadron State College students with certain talents to pursue careers in Engineering and the Natural Sciences. It is hoped that the recipients, as a result of this scholarship, be sucessful in their chosen careers and in life. It is also hoped that the recipients, at a minimum, conduct their financial affairs so as, one day, to be able to endow such a scholarship or give other aid that will support resourceful young persons to begin meaningful, productive vocations.
