Chasteen Family Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:

Recipients shall have a GPA of at least 3.0 and preference will be given to those who can demonstrate financial need.

Joe Chasteen was raised in Chugwater, WY. He was the first one in the family to graduate from CSC. He went to college on the GI bill and graduated in 1950. He was a teacher and coach in Torrington, Manville, and Laramie, WY. His daughter JoLynn "Jody" Chasteen Love graduated from CSC in 1970 and taught in Laramie, WY, Gering, NE and Columbine High School in Colorado. Todd Hallsted (Joe's Grandson) and his wife Angie also graduated from CSC. Todd is a teacher in Casper, WY and Angie is a CPA. This scholarship was established as a tribute to Joe who will turn 90 in June 2015. He taught his family the value of education.
