Eligibility: Senior
Area of Interest: Agriculture Biology Chemistry
First preference shall be given to senior students seeking a degree in agriculture, biology or chemistry with the intention of continuing their academic education beyond CSC toward an advanced degree in animal health or production agriculture at a land grant or similar University. Examples include, but not limited to veterinary medicine, animal science, agronomy, food science or agricultural engineering.
Casey and Tanja (Jung) Frye met at Chadron State. Both came with backgrounds in agriculture. Both majored in biology and chemistry with the intentions of continuing their academic growth beyond CSC: Tanja in veterinary medicine, Casey in animal science. Among the costs of entrance exams, graduate and professional school applications and university site visits, they both learned that seeking advanced degrees at other universities carried a significant financial burden even before completing an undergraduate program. Casey and Tanja Frye wish to help upperclass CSC agricultural students by offering scholarship funds to those who are seeking to expand their agricultural academic experiences beyond Chadron State College.
