Caroline Sandoz Pifer endowed this scholarship in loving memory of her mother, Mary Elizabeth Fehr Sandoz, who was born on March 22, 1867 in Rudlingen, Switzerland. She was married to Jules Sandoz. Her mother was her greatest heroine and this scholarship is to give passing generations some taste of her gentle spirit that had the edge of steel.
