Whether it was children's poetry or a student editorial, Bernard Donohue championed good writing. Donohue was a full-time instructor at Chadron State College from 1955-1985. He taught courses in journalism, children's literature and advanced grammar and was the advisor for the student newspaper, The Eagle. Donohue enjoyed mentoring future journalists, teachers and writers - as a graduate of CSC he valued the student, the program and the opportunities available at this school. Donohue was born in Ireland but spent most of his life in western Nebraska and he believed the CSC experience prepared students for both a career and life after school.
