The recipient shall be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, volunteer activities, leadership qualities, and financial need.

Dr. Wilbur Steininger of Tempe, Ariz., set up the Alta Fox Steininger Endowed Academic Scholarship to pay tribute to his wife, a 1943 graduate of Chadron State who died in 1988.
