Albert Gusner Family Scholarship

Criteria:

The applicants shall be able to demonstrate need as determined by Director of Financial Aid. The recipients shall be majoring in Education. They shall have a GPA of at least a 3.0.


Al Gusner obtained a degree in education from Chadron State College in 1962. He taught school for several years and served as a principal. He started a military career during the Korean War and after the war he spent many years as a health inspector in the military. Simultaneously he served as Director of the Wyoming Association for Mental Health, Director of United Fund in Wisconsin, Director of the Nebraska Professional Guidance Counselors Association and President of the Government Employees Federal Credit Union in Norfolk, Nebraska. It was there he met his wife. They've been married 24 years. Since moving to Texas he has been very active in various civic organizations and continues to say, Be all you can be, regardless of age.
