CSC Percussion Ensemble
The concert percussion ensemble at Chadron State College performs a variety of percussion solo and ensemble repertoire as well as mixed chamber music involving percussion. It is open to all students regardless of primary instrument, skill level, or previous experience.
There are several outcomes and goals of the percussion ensemble at Chadron State College. One goal is to foster the discovery and exploration of percussion related instruments, techniques, and musical styles. This could involve traditional percussion instruments, hand drums, and found/junk instruments.
Through a musical experience, you will build technical skills and demonstrate musicianship. Participating in the percussion ensemble could also help develop some life skills such as listening, cooperation, and responsibility to others.
The percussion ensemble is offered as course MUS109 and MUS309 in the spring semesters and holds a percussion solo and ensemble concert in April.
If you are a current student or local high school student wanting to join the percussion ensemble, contact Dr. Rick Puzzo, Associate Professor of Music, Percussion at rpuzzo@csc.edu.
