Young Families

Having a young family while enrolled in College has some unique challenges. These students could be eligible for programs to assist with the cost of food and nutrition for pregnant mothers and children under the age of 5, and local assistance for diapers.

Western Community Health Resources offers assisting in applying for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). WIC provides healthy food at no cost and nutrition information to help keep pregnant women, infants, children under five healthy and strong.

Residents of Chadron, Crawford, and Box Butte County have access to the Northwest Community Action Partnership (NCAP) Diaper Bank. To be eligible residents must be enrolled in Head Start or WIC, or provide income documentation showing that their household income is at less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Level.
