Food Insecurity Resources

Food Insecurities as defined by the USDA is a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle. In the 2021 #RealCollegeSurvey, led by the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice at Temple University, it was found that 29% of college students at 4-year institutions were food insecure.

The CSC Food Pantry provides CSC Students with food pantry essentials and fresh produce three times a week, every week. The Food Pantry is open to all students, there are no eligibility requirements. Nearly half of the students on campus experience food insecurity. Visit https://www.csc.edu/foodpantry/ to learn more about the CSC Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is located in the Reta King Library on the first floor open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-1:00pm and Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00pm.

There is a student led club on campus called Every Eagle Succeeds that serves as a campus resource to provide pantry items, personal hygiene items, and school supplies. Every Eagle Succeeds also took over the Eagle Exchange, a room of clothing, shoes, coats, and other donated items for students from the campus community. Every Eagle Succeeds and the Eagle Exchange are both located on the second floor of Kent Hall above the Campus Resource Officer’s Office. The Eagle Exchange is open all hours of the day.
