As part of our process toward continuous institutional improvement, Chadron State College has identified areas that offer co-curricular activities to assess student learning. These areas will submit an annual report that includes a plan, benchmark goals, key performance indicators, results, and how action plans were implemented from previous years using the software Weave.

Chadron State College defines cocurricular as 'activities to supplement student learning alongside academic coursework.'

Cocurricular assessment bridges the gap between academic assessment and non-academic department assessment. Our goal is to improve student learning inside, and alongside the classroom, and validate that our students are graduating from Chadron State College being confident and ready for the workforce.

Assessment of student learning is an expectation for ongoing accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) which is specifically addressed in the Higher Learning Commission Criteria for Accreditation standards for the evaluation of students in both academic and co-curricular environments.

Completing Assessment Reports:

All assessment reports at Chadron State College will be completed in Weave. Current members of the sub-committee have access to their assessment projects and meet as a group to review, revise, and recommend changes and updates to co-curricular programs based on their reports.
