The CSC High School Dual Enrollment Program is extended to high school juniors and seniors contingent upon recommendation from a high school official, permission of a parent/guardian and verification of one of the following:

• Student had attained a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Student earned an ACT composite score of 20 or equivalent score on another standardized test
• Student earned an ACT sub-score of at least 20 or equivalent on another standardized test
• Student ranks in the upper 1/2 of their high school class

Students who have not previously taken Dual-Enrollment or Early-Entry courses with CSC should follow this procedure to apply and enroll:

1. Visit their High School Counselor or Principal
   1. It is suggested that the Student and Counselor/Principal do the following steps together.
2. Student applies online using the New Dual-Enrollment Student link on the left-menu of this page
   1. Create an application account with a personal email and password
      1. Select “I am currently attending High School”
3. Then choose the “Dual Entry/Early Entry” option
4. High School Counselor/Principal will be sent an email to do the following:
   1. Verify the academic status of the student
   2. Specify the course(s) the student will be taking
   3. Indicate if the student is eligible for and has applied for the ACE Scholarship
   4. Upload the Parent Authorization Form
5. The verification documents/information will be submitted electronically to Chadron State College for review.
6. The Counselor/Principal will be notified by CSC via email when the application has been accepted.

ACE Applicants: By requesting enrollment and verifying you have applied for the ACE scholarship, you will not be responsible for paying the tuition costs up front. However, you are required to pay the $15 matriculation fee.

You are fully financially responsible for the full payment of your bill if you are not eligible for/granted an ACE scholarship by the CCPE.

• Program high schools will be invoiced for students.
• Students and parents – please contact your student’s counselor for information on how to make payment directly to the high school.
• First time students will be charged a one-time $15 fee (ACE Grant does not cover this)

1. Once the Dual-Enrollment Application or Enrollment Request Form is received and payment has been confirmed by CSC, the student will be enrolled accordingly.
2. When all the students have been enrolled, CSC will send a copy of the class roster for each course to each school and the instructor to confirm.
3. At the end of the term, CSC will request grades by contacting the instructors via email and including the grading template.
4. Students will be graded based on the ACES Grade Policy and NSCS Board Policy 4420.
5. Due to different end of term dates, students will receive the grade of "IP" for the course at the end of the corresponding CSC term. Instructors will then provide the letter grades once the course is complete for the high school term. At that point, the placeholder grade of "IP" will be changed to the actual letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F) earned.

DROP

Students requesting to drop a dual-enrollment course for a refund and no academic penalty, after they have been enrolled and after the CSC drop deadline as stated on the Academic Calendar, may do so in writing by emailing marketdevelopment@csc.edu. These requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and a determination will be made based on the nature of the request. Should a request to drop be granted, the student will be required to pay a $75 Enrollment Cancellation fee.

WITHDRAW

If a student does not complete the course due to extenuating circumstances, CSC will request information from the school about the situation to determine how the course should be graded. If the student left the course within the withdraw period and based on the situation, the student may be give a grade of "W" for the course. Other circumstances may warrant a grade "F" as determined by the school and CSC. Students that withdraw from the course(s) are still financially responsible to pay for the class.

Dual Enrollment is a partnership between Chadron State College and participating school districts. The primary goal of the program is to offer qualified high school junior and senior students opportunities to rise to the challenge of college courses. The program effectively utilizes the junior/senior year by preparing students for college.

Transcripts: Graduating high school students attending a college or university other than Chadron State College may request an official transcript through CSC's Online Transcript Request.

Transfer of Credits: Most colleges and universities will accept transfer credit if a student earns a grade of “C” or better. Students should seek information from the college or university about transfer of credit prior to enrolling in the Dual-Enrollment program.

Students who receive one or more of the following benefits may be eligible to receive scholarship funding toward the cost of their Dual Enrollment tuition through the Access College Early (ACE) program.

• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
• Free/Reduced Price Lunch Program
• Special Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC)
• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
• Other Extreme Hardship

Students should work with their HS counselor to complete the application and submit required supporting documentation. Check with your HS Counselor for details or check out the Access College Early (ACE) program.

PLEASE NOTE:

ACE funding is not guaranteed. If the student is not approved or granted ACE funding, the student/parent is responsible for the FULL payment of the course. It is best to apply early, however decisions about funding are often not made until after the 100% drop/refund period has expired. Please keep this in mind when you enroll.
