RLOP

To be considered for RLOP, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a rural Nebraska resident (students from the following cities and towns are not considered rural and therefore not eligible to apply to RLOP: Omaha, Ralston, Boys Town, Elkhorn, Lincoln, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Chalco, and Offutt Air Force Base)
  • Have applied to Chadron State College
  • Demonstrate strong academic potential as evidenced by GPA, ACT/SAT Scores, letters of recommendation and the interview
  • A commitment to return to the rural areas of Nebraska to practice law including community service, leadership activities, and knowledge of the profession
  • Submit application materials to Chadron State College by November 15th for consideration for the following academic year


RLOP Student Requirements
  1. Accept the RLOP scholarship
  2. Choose the Legal Studies major or another major and the Legal Studies minor
  3. Consult with your assigned RLOP Mentor regularly
  4. Participate in program offerings
  5. Complete a legal internship
  6. Maintain a 3.5 GPA
  7. Earn a 154 or higher on the LSAT
Alternate Requirements
  1. Choose the Legal Studies major or another major and the Legal Studies minor
  2. Consult with your assigned RLOP Mentor regularly
  3. Participate in program offerings
  4. Complete a legal internship

  1. Apply to Chadron State College
  2. Complete the Current Student Application or the Incoming Freshmen Application
  3. Send two letters of recommendation, high school transcripts, and resume to rlop@csc.edu

If selected, students will:

  1. Participate in an interview
  2. Accept offer to be a RLOP Student or a RLOP Alternate

RLOP Applications are due November 15th.
